Movement/Non-Movement Areas

Communication Requirements and Area Designations at Helena Regional Airport

All aircraft, vehicles, and pedestrians operating within the Aircraft Movement Area (AMA) are required to maintain continuous communication with the Air Traffic Control (ATC) Tower. This ensures the safe and coordinated movement of all entities within the airport’s operational airspace.

Taxiway C is designated as a non-movement area, where aircraft have the right of way at all times between Taxiways A and D. It is important to note that, while taxiing in this section, aircraft take precedence over vehicles and pedestrians.

For a comprehensive understanding of the boundaries between the Movement and Non-Movement Areas, please refer to the map provided below. This map will assist in identifying the specific zones to ensure compliance with the airport’s operational procedures.
