Airport Authority

Overview

The Helena Regional Airport has operated at its current location since 1928, originally overseen by a joint City-County Board. In 1993, a Joint Resolution passed by the City of Helena and Lewis & Clark County established the Helena Regional Airport Authority, creating an independent, financially self-sustaining entity. Since its inception, the Authority has operated without financial support from the City, County, or local taxpayers, and has not received any local tax revenue through mill levies. Governance of the Authority is provided by a seven-member commission, with appointments made by both the City and County Commissions.

****Airport Authority meetings are generally held on the third Tuesday of each month at 11:30 a.m. in the Airport Boardroom, located at 2850 Mercer Loop, Helena, Montana. Any changes to the meeting time or location, as well as notices of additional meetings, will be posted in advance.
