PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME (AIRLINE CHECK-IN CUTOFFS)
All of the airlines system-wide, not just in Helena, have enacted strict check-in time frames to maintain the schedule integrity of the nationwide air traffic system. You must check-in, pass through TSA screening (including checked bags) and be at the boarding gate for your flight at least 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time. If you are not there 45 minutes before you are likely going to miss that flight as the airline systems will not allow the local airline staff to get you on the flight. We recommend that even in Helena, you arrive at least 90 minutes ahead of your scheduled flight time.
REAL ID OR CONFIRM ID REQUIRED FOR DOMESTIC AIR TRAVEL BEGINNING ON FEBRUARY 1, 2026
As of February 1, 2026, domestic travelers are required to have a Montana REAL ID driver’s license, passport, or acceptable ID as listed here https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/identification . If you do not have a Real ID or another acceptable ID, starting on February 1, 2026, you will be required to use TSA’s Confirm ID Program that requires application and a fee.
