The Helena Regional Airport Authority is completing an Airport Master Plan Update to help determine the possible developments that may occur on the entire 1,400-acre airport campus over the next 20-year planning period. The airport receives some federal funds through the federal Airport Improvement Program administered by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In order to receive funds allocated to some aviation specific infrastructure, airports are required every 7-10 years to update their Airport Master Plan.
The Master Plan includes a wide range of chapters including development alternatives. A draft copy of the alternatives can be viewed here: Master Plan Development Alternatives
The next steps are for the Airport Commissioners to formally select the preferred development alternatives, which will occur at the Airport Board’s October Meeting to be held on October 21, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. in the Airport Board Room located on the second floor of the terminal building. The Board meetings are open to the public.
